Camps Bay House

Nestled against the dramatic backdrop of Camps Bay, this contemporary family home was designed for a Johannesburg-based businessman seeking a refined coastal retreat for his family. Positioned to capture uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean to the south, Lion’s Head to the north-west, and both Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles mountain range to the north-east, the design carefully balances openness with moments of privacy and retreat.

The project presented a complex approval process, requiring several departures from the City’s Development Management Scheme, alongside the removal of historic title deed restrictions through a dedicated land use application process. Construction commenced in early 2026, bringing to life a collaborative vision shaped closely with the client and an architect friend who contributed to the early spatial planning and selected architectural features.
