Situated within a newly established private estate in Hout Bay, this bespoke family home was designed for an owner-builder with a clear and highly considered vision for his future home. The project required a careful balance between the client’s personal design aspirations and the estate’s stringent architectural guidelines, which governed everything from materiality and scale to roof forms and street presence.

Working closely with the client, the design process focused on translating his ideas into a refined architectural response that felt both personal and contextually appropriate.
